Bug: New Zwave Garage Tilt Sensor has issues
The device in question is: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HGVJRX2/ref=s9_simh_gw_p60_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0QZJQ78BP23NW79Q0N0S&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
The tilt sensor adds fine to the network, however, incontrol receives updates from the sensor only about 50% of the time. It seems to work just fine on other zwave systems. Also distance does not seem to be a factor. Even right next to the z stick it only gets about 50% of the updates. However, I can see my repeater blink every time I tilt / straighten the sensor, so it is sending out info. I changed the polling rate and that has had no effect. If you view the amazon page and filter the reviews using incontrol, there is another review there that describes the same issue. Another bug associated with this is that the android app allows me to "control" the read-only device which then makes it receive 0% of the updates. If I view it under the sensors section on my android app, I can click on the text "closed" or "open" and it will change it's state in the incontrol software regardless of whether or not the sensor is tilted or not.

On this topic, most of my sensors and even the controller, when I click associations, says "The device did not respond, please verifiy it is awake" It is awake and working when i go trip it.

I did not have the associations set, or the "beta" stick settings. I'll do that and re-test. Thanks!

Are you making sure to associate the sensor with the USB stick after you add it to the network? Otherwise it won't know where to send updates after it goes back to sleep.

I use a different relay to control the garage door. I'm not sure if this would cause interference since the relay will switch on and off before the tilt sensor registers a change and sends it's signal. I luckily haven't had to re-add the sensor to the network.

Also after a short time it stops working all together. I have to re-add it to the network for it to communicate again.

I agree, I'm still having issues even with polling turned off. For garage door control, I have the following relay:
This is also supposed to act like a repeater. I noticed, if this device is busy or itself sending or receiving a signal, it will interfere with the tilt sensor. Do you have this same relay Tom?

I have the same issue. I would say I receive the sensor updates 70-80% of the time. My polling has always been disabled for this device.

You may run into problems by polling it since it's a battery powered device. Your best bet is to disable polling. It might be that your polls are stopping the USB stick from receiving the state change as well.
