  1. Not an idea but a finding

Incontrol version 4.0:5831-- Had a problem with a linear garage door opener. Power went out for a few hours (GFI trip) and when it came back the garage door node was unresponsive to incontrol. To fix I excluded and re-included garage door (new node 21). Worked, but a node 10, the previous node for the garage showed as EntryCointrol in Devices perpetually, could not delete. Went into scenes and removed all the old node 10, replaced with the new 21 and that seems to fix the issue. Just a note that users need to parse their scenes manually after an…

  2. Allow Hue RGB channels to be set to a variable

It would be awesome if you could tie a variable to one of the RGB channels on a Hue bulb.

I was thinking this would be awesome for weather. For instance, you could map temperature to the red channel, and have it be dim for cold temperature, and bright for hot.

  3. Expand the possibility to create custom sensors for a device's state, like for instance, the system mode and system/state of a thermostat.

Context : Level logging for the CT32 thermostat mixes up all sorts of data : humidity, system state, temperature, etc. It's therefore not easy to use/automate this info. I thus created a separate/custom sensor for humidity and temperature. But can't do it for the system's state : the software doesn't offer it as a custom sensor (despite the fact its data appears in level logging). Audit log shows this particular data as "THERMOSTATOPERATINGSTATE_REPORT". Since the data is there and already handled by the software, could it be possible to add the possibility to create a custom sensor for…

  7. Edit scenes for remotes directly

I don't like not being able to see which scenes are assigned to which remotes. I have a half dozen remotes in my house, and I don't like that I don't know what scenes are assigned to them. I wish I could change them on the fly in software, and not have to go to each remote separately to change them. I'd rather be able to sit in front of my computer and choose the scenes each of the buttons controls.

  8. Change individual aspects of thermostat in a scene

There are times when I only want to change one aspect of my thermostat, and not everything else that's going on with it.

For example, during the day when everyone is gone I don't want my HVAC fan to run all the time, so I put it on auto. At night, though, I want it on so the temperature in my house evens out. This is independent of the temperatures I want to set.

  11. Add Enable/Disable Button to Scenes List

Would like to see a toggle icon added to the Scenes list that would allow you to quickly enable or disables scenes. This would be much faster than opening up the triggers manually and disabling them.

It would also be handy to be able to resort the scenes list without closing and reopening ICHA.

  13. Sonos: Ability to specify sonos-groups

It would be nice to be able to specify a group of sonos zone players, like you can do with the sonos controller. So for example if you wanted to play a specific mp3 throughout the entire house. Right now if you want to play a specific mp3 file throughout the house you have to select every zone player individually and because they fire off sequentially you end up hearing a delay.

  14. Generate graphs for the state of devices

A graph of the last 24hrs and the last 7 days of the state of any device would be really helpful in debugging.
You can see if a light is on when it should not be really easily on a graph.
Also really handy to check that your thermostat setbacks are working as expected by viewing a graph of the current temp. vs. setback temp.
If you put the data into a MySWL DB it should be easy to generate some simple graphs.
Ideally have a choice of line vs. bar chart is also helpful but start with simple line…

  15. Harmony Hub (IR & A/V) Support

Harmony Hub is a universal remote, without the remote.. You use your phone and an app to control all of your AV equipment. You can also purchase a remote.. But the hub does everything. They now offer API support so we can get the Harmony Hub linked to InControl... Hit the good night button and lights out, tv, amp, directv off... Doors lock.. Or hit the "watch a movie" button on the harmony app, and have the lights dim, blinds shut, popcorn popper kick on! lol.. Lets get some votes for IR support within InControl!

    Google "Harmony Hub" for more…

Currently waiting to hear back from Logitech about API access. There are lots of complains about them on the -net about being slow to grant access to the API. If that turns out, we may look at making a Philips Hue “emulator” since it already has a device on the hub.

  16. Add ability automatically clear error icon on PC

Add ability automatically clear error icon on PC when device is able to successfully communicate. For instance, I see a lock unlocked, but I am not sure if it is accurate or not because the error condition icon is set.

  18. Bug:Upgraded to Windows 10 and now devices COMMAND_CLASS_BASIC.BASIC_GET fail

Have only about 19 devices and since I've upgraded to Windows 10 I have to restart the InControl service at least once a day because i see in the logs that almost every device fails on COMMANDCLASSBASIC.BASIC_GET and then Polling gets disabled for nodeId x because of too many failed communication attempts, Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. 19. Label Nest Home/Away Status on Android app

In the desktop version the Nest plugin Home/Away status automatically gets labels applied to the level values (0=Away , 255 = Home).

Please show the labels in the Android app as well, rather than the numerical values it reports currently.
